I love coffee... I've gone through some coffee changes over the years. I used to like it really sweet, with cream and sugar. Then, I evolved and decided that only Iced Coffee was worthy. Damn Dunkin Donuts... 2 bucks a day adds up... Then suddenly I decided the Iced Coffee fad was over. That's right, you heard me... I decided, ME... So back to hot coffee... but can you add French Vanilla, Cream and Sugar. Ok... so it sounds squirelly but delicious. Then damn Dunkin Donuts again... 2 bucks a day adds up... So I started participating in the office coffee... BBBLLLEECCCCHHHHHH... at first... I think they were only adding 2 scoups per 12 cups... might as well drink dirty water... But it got better... Now we have a guy in the office who makes great coffee... Let's just say we've given him a name... He's the Coffee... uh... Guy... That's not really his name... but anyway... So it's so good I've changed the entire way I drink coffee... Now I don't even put in cream and sugar in it... Straight black savor the taste... mmm mmm good... So yesterday my wife brings home a thing of Dunkin Donuts Strawberry Shortcake flavored coffee... I protested how ridiculous it was that she would bring home that kind of flavored coffee... Now... Damn Dunkin Donuts...

The Handshake…

Ahhhhhh, the handshake. It’s taken for granted. A lot can be said from it. The limp fish, the firm grasp, the shaker, the over shaker, the holder, the jive-er, and last but not least the almost high five yet sideways slap the hand together and shake once then release handshake.

I like that one the best… the almost high five yet sideways slap the hand together and shake once then release handshake I mean. It says “hey, I haven’t seen you in a while… how the heck are ya!”. But it has to be just right. You have to meet with the arm extended out just right. If it isn’t right, the hand webs might not meet and the fleshy part of the palms might not slap together like a thunder clap. Woe to them whose thumbs collide as they slap hands, or if one person’s thumb slaps into the web. Then, shake once, release… What a great feeling when it all goes down the right way. When you get it right, it really says to your friend “hey I have missed you and I’m am super happy to see you again!”. If it doesn’t go down right, a feeling comes over you like you just noticed your friend forgot to shave half his face, but don’t want to say anything because no one else has. That’s just awful.

Sometimes you might anticipate the motion too much. Just the other day I found myself approaching with reserve, picking out the spot in the air where the hands would make contact, turning my body in such a manner that the timing was just right. I reached back, opened my hand, then KA-SLAP!!! Perfection… shake once… done.

Ahhhhh, it’s all in the handshake.

I'm A Little Miffed...

Ok... I'm a little miffed. I was hoping that someone, anyone, would post on the one about my lizard Honda.

Someone read it right...? Mom? Xanthan Gum? Anyone?

I meant to add this after the post. I know my wife read it (but she didn't post on it... shame shame) and she gave me a lizard picture that I have hanging on my computer desk to remind me. Here it is...

Chuckwalla... what's that...
